This project explores movement through a fantastical lens, featuring professional dancer Emma Konjevich as a Wiła, a mythical forest spirit from Slavic folklore. Blending dance, nature, and legend, the series transforms the woodland into a stage where grace and mystery intertwine. In Slavic folklore, a wiła (also known as vila) is a nymph trapped between the earth and sky. In some theories, they are betrothed girls who died before their wedding days. The wiły are said to dance in circles beneath the stars; and in some tales, their dances entrance and lure young men to their death.
